How Online Marketers Get Users Like Your Business On Social Media Sites

By Shannon Weber

In the previous issue of Facebook For Business, you learned how you can build a business Fan Page from Facebook. In this issue, you'll learn how you can get individuals to 'like' your page.

First off, before actually finding techniques on acquiring more Like clicks, one must tackle the primary problem of making a Facebook account visible and familiar to the public eye. The major issue in using a Fan Page is the awareness of the Facebook users.

For you to do this, the company must find other instruments by which the URL address can be seen. As its core group, the company should tap their employees and close contacts. Mention the launch of your Facebook Fan Page by sending news letters. If you're a big company, then you can easily get a few hundred Likes within the company right away.

A number of organizations even make it compulsory for their staff to include the Facebook account in their e-mail signature. This way, personal and professional contacts will be just a click away from the account. A business can also raise interest with the use of their Twitter and LinkedIn account. Approaches like article advertising and distribution of press releases are effective as well.

On the whole, the impact of social media management is remarkable when played right. Because it's highly effective, there's no reason why you shouldn't use Facebook as a business tool. To put it simply, any Facebook page needs a good amount of unique visitors for it to become profitable.

Now that you know this, let's move on to the difficult but not impossible task of getting as much 'Likes' as possible when using Facebook for Business. Several hundreds, or better yet thousands of 'Likes', displays a company's popularity. But more than this, Likes are an effective gauge of your online presence. The more 'Likes' a Fan Page has, the more effective it is in attracting potential customers. In order to get more Likes, the company must be like a well-oiled machine. You should post updates frequently, upload photos that catch the attention of your customers and use Facebook app that allow you to share promos and sales.

To make sure these responsibilities are carried out consistently, assign a group of your employees to serve as moderators. Of course, the ideal group for this would be your Marketing Team. Or if you don't have the budget, then tap one person and use organizing applications like Hootsuite in order to give out constant updates.

This may sound too complicated and time-consuming but you should keep at it. The work will pay off if you stay consistent and organized. Each company will have different guidelines as to how active they want their account to be but always remember that all updates, posts and activities should be done with a degree of professionalism in mind.

View your Facebook page as you would if you are running newsletters and your Facebook fans as your subscribers. Give out updates that are always positive but not too full of nonsense. A lot of fluff will discount your credibility online. Useful posts such as informative notes, seminar photos, press releases and links from close affiliates are more ideal.

Furthermore, effective Facebook marketing means that you should make use of incentives, promos and other activities then advertise them exclusively on the site. This is one of the best ways to get responses in just a short amount of time. Word of mouth is still an important source of prospects despite the technological age, so present customers should as much as possible be pleased with the site so they can share it with others as well.

Check out our next issue. We will talk about using marketing promotions, contests and giveaways to gain fans.
