How To Build Best-Selling iPhone App

By Spencer Kardin

People walking on the street and talking on their iPhones; students killing time while listening to iTunes; and office workers checking their apps are already a common scenario. This is no longer a surprising sight. Nowadays, smart phones, let alone iPhones, have become an integral part of our daily lives. Occasionally, people visit the App Store to check for new free and paid releases.

Creating iPhone applications have become a lucrative business for technoheads around the globe. Even those with no detailed background on computer science are able to produce a fine application Now, coming up with an iPhone app that sells like hotcakes is the tech entrepreneur's major concern. In order for one to reap millions out of a free or a $0.99 worth of game and functional iPhone app, it must have the following characteristics:

Put colorful yet comprehensive interface. Most users tend judge the app by its appearance. The first thing that attracts them towards an application is a well-designed logo and vivid environment. Make sure, though to live up to their expectation or your application will end up in the trash.

Make your app functional, something that the kids, moms, dads, students, and seniors would find useful. Simply put indispensable. If they can install an app that will certainly improve their lives and ease things up, they will buy it.

Make it fun and entertaining. Nobody wants to have a boring app to eat up their device's space anyway.

Simple and smooth navigation. Make your followers' life easy just as what iPhone intends to offer. It is not fun to figure out which button to press, what 'this' or 'that' label means, and what a specific button is for.

Even if there are already thousands of apps in the Apps Store, try to make your app one-of-a-kind. Offer people never-before-seen stuff. However, if your app is inspired by another, don't forget to add your own twang for distinction.

Be market-specific. Create an app that is intended for children who have special needs, and then make another one meant for moms who have multiple jobs, and the for stay-at-home dads, and then for college students with no boyfriend. These are just an example but this is how specific you should get. However, you can also create apps for general use if you want a wider following. All these features thrown into one mix will definitely be addicting. Your app should be something that is hard to put down.

Finally, make your app technically flexible. It should match various iOS versions. You do not have to cover everything but at least come up with something that users of later iPod touch can also enjoy your product.

Once again, remember that you do not need to be a genius to create an app although it would help to be one. Be a tech-genius and marketing expert at the same time if you want to make money out of doing something you like the most.
