Beginning A New Internet Marketing Strategy

By Steve Roper

Internet marketing is an essential part of your advertising strategy for any small business. Even if your store has been around for fifty years you need to take advantage of the tools that are available to you. Many of these tools are very simple to use and require little or no money to employ.

Keep track of how many people are visiting your site on a regular basis. You need to do this particularly when you have implemented new ideas. If you see that one of your new ideas has led to a decrease in visitors, you will know that you need to make some changes.

Social media marketing employs social media sites to improve the visibility of your website. You can create a Facebook account, Twitter and Google+ and link them to your website. Twitter can be used to announce new products or services and notify followers of sales and discounts. When a company's message is transferred from user to user, it is considered a more natural type of advertising and more people trust marketing messages that did not come directly from the company.

Be patient. It can take a while for internet marketing methods to really take off. Don't be discouraged if you don't see results right away. Just keep trying things until you see what works best for you.

Implement SEO as much as you can throughout your websites and social media network pages. By implementing SEO all throughout these pages you are going to see a good amount of traffic being generated to your site. SEO helps boost both your website, and social media network pages on search engine ranks. This means that these pages will get a lot more traffic because of the amount of people seeing them and clicking on them to check them out. Even though you won't be getting purchases from everyone that visits, some will and that is going to help you out a lot.

Any form of Internet marketing heavily relies on content being put out and not just a savvy use of keywords. You need to grasp people's attention with your content and you can do that by using short videos in your marketing materials. Videos can range from something humorous to something even educational! You want to market your videos in a way that makes people check back often to see if new ones have been added. This is how you capture the interest of a wide audience.

Thousands of companies have discovered that video sharing sites like YouTube are valuable tools for reaching out to consumers. Create and upload a brief, professional video and include customer testimonials, product demonstrations or an entertaining skit. Think of your YouTube account as your own television channel and upload related videos that are likely to appeal to members of your target market. If your company provides landscaping services, for example, create a slideshow that showcases some of your best work. If you own a salon, try making a video that teaches viewers to style hair for a special occasion. At the end of each video clip, include a call to action and invite viewers to visit your website or place of business.

Keep it short and sweet! Remember that a picture is worth 1000 words, and use lots of images, pictures and graphics to catch your visitors' attention and explain your intentions.

A great idea to keep things looking good is to ask your site visitors and customers what they think. Not only will they appreciate that you value their opinion, but you can also use the information you have to make things better for your business. For example, you may think your site looks great in red, but if most of your customers say it looks terrible and they can't stand to read the site, you might consider changing it to show you've heard the voice of the people.

A key component in being successful in many of today's businesses is having a strong online presence. The ideas from this article, if used, will help you develop a great reputation, which will help raise your profits.
