What Improvements Have Been Made To The Upgraded iPad 3

By Nita Seyler

It's finally here! Apple fans are dancing in the street with the release of the iPad 3. To avoid confusion, many people have labeled this the iPad 3, since for some reason, Apple has decided to only call it the new iPad. As with every other iPad, this new release is much more sophisticated than the last. The main features of the latest iPad are said to be very innovative. In this review, we will see if it is hype, or reality.

One of the biggest complaints with the first iPad was that it didn't have a camera. The customers of the iPad 2, which had a camera added, were not too impressed with how well it worked. A 5-megapixel iSight camera has been included in the upgraded new iPad. The camera can be used to record 1080p HD video. The automatic video stabilization, which this camera has, will keep any shaking out of your videos The camera has auto face detection, meaning it can recognize people who you frequently photograph. If you like making video calls to your friends, you can use this camera, and no matter where they are, you can chat with them. The new model of iPad should be appreciated, even by those who are not getting it to take pictures, because one of the impressive upgrades is the camera, which is new and improved.

Getting on the Internet is very easy with this iPad because of its 4G and WiFi capabilities. Covering most of the places that you may travel, you can connect with Verizon or AT&T. Do you travel internationally? If so, using a local SIM card, you can also connect. In short, Apple is keeping up with the latest technology and ensuring that the new iPad is up to speed in this area. The site that also allows you to chat with friends or surf the web just like you normally would. If you have a MacBook, or an iPod, you can connect with these other Apple devices using your iPad. As long as you can pay for an additional month to month contract (it's for an additional battle plan) you can use these high-speed services. When you don't want to type, you can use the new iPad dictation capabilities, by talking into it like a tape recorder. You simply tap the microphone icon and you can start talking, then tap it again to show you're finished. With the new iPad, it will automatically make text out of your spoken words. The uses of this feature are many, including dictating a simple note, writing any kind of document, or even writing a letter or paper. You can even use dictation to do web searches or to search for a destination you're looking for. Typing can get kind of old, so you might find it easy and fun to use dictation with your new iPad.

The new iPad can be used to navigate your way around, whether you're on foot or in your car. It's easy to find things, or go to places you have never been before. Ask it to find a "Italian restaurant" or "motel" and the Maps feature will get you there. You can get turn by turn instructions, or simply choose different routes to get to where you are going. A map view or a satellite view is available when trying to see your location. You can look at your destinations up close by zooming in. You can also e-mail where you are going to others, or send it via Twitter, to the destination of your choice. Regardless of where you are traveling, the iPad can be used as a GPS to help guide your way. There is a Game Center with the latest iPad where you can play games all different kinds. The high resolution display and powerful processor will enhance your experience while playing games on your iPad.

Battery life with the iPad 2 was an impressive 10 hours, and the iPad 3 is able to match this, though it doesn't promise to exceed it. This, however, is quite a feat in itself, as the new iPad has many upgraded features such as a display with four times the pixels of the iPad 2. This gives you quite a bit of time to enjoy the many features of the device in between charges. Outperforming the competition with its battery life, the new iPad wins again in this area. The competition can usually only provide half of the battery life the iPad can, so keep that in mind.

Apple products are very good, but if you are not a fan, you may not want to invest your money in this new iPad. Apple is sometimes regarded as a closed system, making many people upset. Apple has an App Store. So when you own an iPad, you can only buy apps from there. So if you get an iPad, and you try to use a program or app not made by Apple, it probably won't work. More than likely, if most of your devices come from Apple, you won't have a problem with this. If, however, you are thinking about buying your first Apple device, it's something you should be aware of.

One of the major complaints regarding the iPad is that it will not sync well with other computers like laptops and notebooks. Let's say that you have documents that you finished on your computer. It can be difficult transferring them to the iPad to take them with you. Connecting your PC to the iPad 3 is still going to be a problem for you. You need to realize that before you spend your money on one. Understand that the iPad is not a computer, nor a replacement for any PC. It's designed to be an entertainment tool, nothing more. So if your intention is to purchase this device to do work, or to transfer documents between it and your PC, you should probably not get this particular device. There are fun features, along with a wide variety of useful ones, with the iPad 3. The latest version of Apple's creation shouldn't disappoint many people because of its great improvement. Traditional computers are still incompatible, and these iPads don't have Flash either, so be aware of that before you buy one. However, when you consider how much you can do with the new iPad, it's still a good value.

The iPad 3 is an upgraded version of an already impressive device. Leading the way in the tablet industry, Apple is the king without any doubt. There is no way around it - you can completely justify the cost of the new iPad based upon the features that it has to offer and the quality of the product that you will end up with, especially when compared to other tablets.
