You Should Rent Video Games

By Rachael Hansen

Brand new games are expensive. They are too expensive for most people, and do not have much use after they have been played through, other than taking up shelf space. If this is a common problem for you, perhaps you should try to rent video games some of the time.

Have you ever rented a video game. Chances are that you have. So if you have rented them before, think about how you have rented them. Did you do it in a store or online.

You probably want to know how you should rent a game to get your best value. It used to be that best value came with the deals in a local movie store or simply borrowing from friends. Now that the Internet has become a strong basis for our culture, though, many online services exist that have made it harder for movie rental shops to exist. If your local rental shops are not out of business, you can still visit them for decent prices on used games.

If your city is another place where movie rental shops have gone out of business, you should seek out online services that allow you to download a full game for a subscription fee or one time cost. Subscription services allow you to play a game online with other users for as long as you keep up with the fees. Still other services exist, though.

There are also services where you can have a game delivered to your doorstep, and once you finish it and ship it back, you can order another to be shipped to you for no extra cost.

Game rentals can potentially be worth every penny you spend. Instead of paying opening day prices, renting can allow you to play a new game at a fraction of the cost. If you want your own copy, you can still rent initially, and buy one later when the price has dropped. Read more about: Rent video games
